Maruya

August 10th, 2008 ideru

It’s been a long long time since I posted anything about ramen :D. I have not been doing any traveling lately, so no new ramen from different places but i was able to try some tasty ramen just around the neighborhood. This one just after watching fireworks in the rain yesterday.

まる屋(maruya)

we were hungry, wet from the rain that it was really a hot treat. There was only one person serving all the customer so it took around 10 minutes to prepare the ramen. It was quite good.

The nearest train station is the Hankyu Minamigakata and Midosuji Nishinakajima minamikata Nort Exit. It’s very near yoshinoya store so you won’t missed it.

Ramen, Karaoke, Braiding

April 20th, 2008 ideru

Met up with Lisa last night in Takatsuki, and had this very delicious ramen. Sorry I forgot what ramen I ordered and the name of the store, but its near Hankyu Takatsuki station. After that together with Lisa’s friend Jason, we went for a two hour karaoke. We totally forgot the time, with all the dancing and jumping around :D

Then went back to Lisa’s hotel and illegally stayed for the night. Braided Lisa’s hair till around 3:30 in the morning. It’s been ages since I’ve done any braiding.

Iwakuni - Ehime Day 1

November 27th, 2007 ideru

I had a 3 days vacation, a chance to go to an adventure again..

11.23 ( Friday ) 7:30am - Left for Hiroshima. I was not able to get a night bus on the 22nd , it seems like the people from Osaka are going to Hiroshima.

1:00pm - bus was 30mins. late from the schedule arrival. Met up with N on Hiroshima Station and proceed to Kintaikyo Bridge in Yamaguchi Prefecture, which is considered to be one of Japan’s Most Beautiful Bridge.

It was really amazing. Crossing the bridge is not free though. Went up to the Castle, which was reconstructed around early 50’s ( I think ) on its original location since the original was torn down by ordered of Tokugawa Ieyasu cause he only wants to have one castle in each area. The view of Iwakuni from the Castle’s upper room was amazing.

Went back to Hiroshima around 6pm to meet up with Y and had Tsukimen for dinner. It’s a ramen which is eaten like a soba, meaning the noodles is separated from its sauce, just dip it in :D

Ramen: Momofuku ( Ikeda )

May 28th, 2007 ideru

Momofuku Ando was the inventor of Instant Ramen. A ramen shop in memory of Momofuku as well as the Musuem can be all found in Ikeda City.

The momofuku original ramen is/was a chicken flavor. The noodles is different from the tonkutsu flavor but both were still delicious and satisfying :D

KimchiToru_Toru

New addition: Kimchi Ramen, Toru Toru Nikku

Early this month , they added 4 new flavors.  The kimchi ramen is interesting because its served cold, best for summer. The Toru Toru Nikku was so delicious. The meat was so soft, you cannot believe it was meat at all feels like your eating mochi. Both cost 850yen and 900yen respectively. The other 2 I forgot and I have not tried them yet :D

It’s located in Osaka, Higashi-dori guchi (東通口)。 (I think :D )

Ramen:一蘭ラーメン

May 14th, 2007 ideru

I have been hearing a lot about this ramen house from friends and colleagues before in NEC who has visited Kyushuu on a business trip or technical training. I have never been to Kyushuu and there is no branch yet in Kansai area. My chance came last golden week.  So the day, I was about to go home, I did pestered my cousin and his husband to look for the ramen house. Finally, we found one in Ikebukuro area, where they live.

What’s unique about this one, is that you can choose/select how your ramen must be serve, from the type of soup use, to meat, onion, oil and softness of the noodles. Another is the eating style. You eat inside a box-like table, so basically it you cannot see who is eating beside you. The staff also are blocked by the separator in front of you. You can only hear them during order time, and when they deliver your ramen. It was really an interesting meal. You can slurp your heart out without getting embarass by the person on your side or in front of you.

Yummyy…

Ramen: Wakayama

April 24th, 2007 ideru

A trip for me would not be complete without a slurp of ramen. So when the Hasegawa and Kakuta and me went to Wakayama they were kind enough to grant this wish of mine :D, and we search for the famous ramen house in Wakayama city.
