Small but Terrible

is the best description of this 15-year old ( soon to be 16?? ) girl, who thanks to youtube ( someone uploaded her video in youtube ) become a singing sensation all around the world. Her version of DreamGirl’s “And I Am Telling You I’m not Going ” and Whitney Houston’s “I have Nothing” brought her to the attention of Ellen de Generes and was invited to perform it to her show. Then again she was asked to performed the same song in Paul Grady show in London and this month in Oprah with 10 other amazing kids from around the world, she will perform again.

Charice Pempengco, a very talented girl is making it big. Good Luck and looking forward to more of your performance.

Do you love music? I’m sure you do. How about mixing and creating and mixing your own sound? I don’t have any talent with making or creating sounds or music but I love listening to them. A trip to fairyland

as far as what I felt listening to Johann Strauss Weiner Orchester last Sunday at Amagasaki Archaic Hall. It was a dreamy performance, my hands were numb clapping for an encore . I really love it when the conductor performed a solo violin, it was like listening or watching swan lake or swan princess.

Then they have a small drama between the conductor, the timpanist and percussion. It was entertaining. I really would not mind watching them again next year if ever they come back to Japan and if I’m still here

Magical Night

What happens when classical music is merged with jazz? Takako Asahina. Tonight I’ve experienced one of the best pianist out there. I’m not fan of jazz music but merging this two difficult music was really amazing. Together with The Curacion Rhythm Section from New York, they waved a magical night.

Asked why Classical and Jazz :

( This is as far I can understand based from answer in Japanese)

” I wanted to create an original music that can be considered as my own. With classic no matter how I practice, it will never be considered as mine. Merging this two kinds of music , I tried to create a very rare and original music .”

And without doubt she did just that.

twas the night before christmas

a girl from osaka travelled all the way to tokyo then to ginza to a theater called “Le Theater Ginza”  to experience a once in a lifetime christmas special the “Nodame Orchestra Christmas Special” . It was amazing beyond words. A night i would never forget.

Dark Passion Play

..is the newly released album of Nightwish after about 2 years of hiatus. I was really anticipating the new vocalist, her voice and her style of singing as well as fashion. It cant be argued that Tarja Turunen is one of the best singer/vocalist there is, and her singing style was really amazing, her sense of fashion is also commendable.

A few months ago, I think it was July or August the group announce their new vocalist: Anette. I vow not to compare her to Tarja, since when the group announced their search for a new vocalist they did not look for someone who is classically trained but someone who has a refreshing voice.Then I guess Anette is that, has a refreshing voice.

When I first heard the single Amaranth, there is no mistaken its Nightwish. When I heard Anette sung, POP??  oh no.. but I continue to listen to it, and as expected the group choose well. Anette’s voice hmmm .. there is something in her voice that makes you want to listen more and more.

The new album is different from their previously realesed, the Nightwish trademark is still there, but I don’t know how to say it..
I think the atmosphere is kinda lighter, it does not make you want to head bang but sort of wanna make you dance

My favorite song so far in order: Amaranth , Bye Bye Beatiful and The Poet and The Pendulum
