LakeHouse and Persuasion

If you have watched the latest flick of Miss Congeniality and Mr, Matrix, you will know that Jane Austen’s Persuasion made its apperance there :D.
Since I love Jane Austens book, i went out to look for the said book, bought it and read it. With a busy weekend, I have little time to seat down and concetrate on my reading this days. So while on the train to work ( 1.5 hours of travel, one way) i made it my train-book.

In roughly 4 days I finished it ( finished it yesterday night on my way home ). So anyways, the main character of the book was Captain Frederick Wentworth and Anne Elliot. The plot, 8.5 years ago he and anne had a romantic encounter. Unfortunately though he was a man of no connection yet, though anne was in-love with him, she was torn between
her duty to her family for she knows that frederick would never do to his father’s eyes. Both heartbroken they parted ways. But Providence would not allow it, after 8.5 years they meet again, this time Frederick is no longer a man without connection but a Captain , alas he has not forgiven Anne for refusing him, and tried to ignore and hurt her. Stupid as he is, it was to his undoing, though he tried to ignore her, he found that it hurt more to see her but not be able to talk to her. And came the rival, the heir to the baronnet of Anne’s father, her cousin Mr. Elliot. As Anne gave his attention to Mr. Elliot ( who was actually a black-hearted , leecher, scheming person ), unknown to her Frederick was extremely jealous. To make the story short, he followed Anne wherever she goes, and then one day compose a letter pouring out his heart , telling here that after all this years, there was only to his heart and that was her. And Anne, having
this known, decided that no matter what his family might think of him, decided that it was time to follow her heart and be happy. And yes after sorting things out and clearing up the misunderstanding she agree to be a sailor’s wife. Whether they live happily ever after, well….

As to the movie Lakehouse, disregarding all the scientific explanation the movie is romantic enough.

  1. I’m a fan of Jane Austen as well. All her works are very nice, and I like all of them. But among them, my favorites are: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma (in that order). I even have collected all her books, and now planning to collect Movie adaptations of those books. :)
Okay - speaking of The Lakehouse, I myself have seen it, and have just bought the DVD for my collection. :) Really, really nice movie. :)
